Why is Bayfikr crowdfunding?

Bayfikr means Hakuna Matata. We are an app that is by migrants, for migrants. With a goal to serving migrants in developed countries like UK, Bayfikr is an impact led startup empowering migrants to make & purchase value-added payments & services in their home countries, along with traditional remittances, without the need to setup bank accounts. With Bayfikr, users can pay for utility bills, university fees, medical payments & more, in their home countries directly from their international bank accounts. This means you migrants can now pay their mother’s electricity bill in Ghana or their son’s tuition fee in Bangladesh directly from wherever they are. According to Investopedia, “crowdfunding is the use of small amounts of capital from a large number of individuals to finance a business. Crowdfunding makes use of the easy accessibility of vast networks of people through social media and crowdfunding websites to bring investors and entrepreneurs together, with the potential to grow a particular business.”[1]

Websites such as Seedrs, allow individuals to invest in startups such as Bayfikr. It gives investors the ability to own the business from as little as £10 to as much as £100,000.      

Crowdfunding through Seedrs is a great way for normal investors to invest in startups like Bayfikr. It gives people a chance to earn profits through investments which would otherwise only be available to Venture Capital funds or very high net worth individuals.

Bayfikr is an impact led startup. We help migrants with better, faster and easier ways to take care of their families and loved ones in their home countries. Since they are the ones who ultimately benefit, we want them to be involved as well. And crowdfunding is one of the ways to do it. So, if you believe in impact investing or if you think you can be a Bayfikr user, this is your chance to be part of the business.

From a business perspective, crowdfunding will enable us to expand our services to more migrant communities not just in the UK, but also in other countries such as Canada and the UAE. Our ultimate goal is to make Bayfikr global.

This funding will also help us enhance our product and technology and grow our team. We want to hire a team that believes in the same vision that we have of a world where distance is no barrier to love.

We are revenue generating and our app is already live. Our product is proven and payments on our platform are growing 30% MoM. With this funding, we aim to increase our revenues even more and take step a closer to profitability. Funding will be used, to market Bayfikr in the UK, Canada and the UAE.
